Swarm Chess

About

Swarm Chess is a collaborative online chess game where hundreds of players work together on teams to capture all enemy kings on a massive 800×800 board. Each team has 100 copies of every standard chess piece, creating epic strategic battles across a sprawling battlefield.

Players are assigned to either White or Black upon joining. Every move counts — coordinate with your team, earn currency, and upgrade your abilities in the shop.

Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you use Swarm Chess, we may collect the following information:

• Google Account Data: When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier (sub ID) to authenticate your account. We do not store your Google email address, profile photo, or other Google profile information on our servers.
• Username: The display name you choose when creating your account.
• Game Data: Your team assignment, move history, piece statistics, currency balance, shop purchases, flags, and cooldown state.
• Session Data: A session token stored in your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Authenticate your identity and maintain your game session
• Display your username to other players when you move pieces
• Track game progress, enforce cooldowns, and manage currency
• Prevent abuse and enforce fair play

3. Data Storage & Security

Your game data is stored on our servers. We use reasonable security measures to protect your information, including secure WebSocket connections (WSS) and hashed session tokens. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties. Your username and moves are visible to other players as part of normal gameplay. Anonymized, aggregate statistics (such as total moves or active players) may be displayed publicly.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage to save your session token so you remain signed in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. Google Sign-In may use its own cookies as part of the authentication process — refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details.

6. Children's Privacy

Swarm Chess is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at swarmchessgame@gmail.com. Upon request, we will delete your account data within a reasonable timeframe. You can also sign out at any time, which clears your local session data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Swarm Chess after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
